Olá from Rio!
Meet the team behind Solution Seeker in Brazil. Six people, two continents, and a lot of coffee

Most people know Solution Seeker as a Norwegian company. And we are, but for a little over five years now, a good part of our work has been happening 10,000 kilometres south of Oslo, in Rio de Janeiro.
It started with a single production optimisation project with Petrobras. Today, we work with other operators, including PRIO, and the office has grown into a team of six. The ambition has always been simple: build the same environment in Rio that we have in Norway: same technology, standards, and way of treating each other.
Here's who makes that happen.

Guilherme leads our operation in Brazil, and makes sure that what we build in Oslo actually lands well with the operators here. He has a talent for unconventional travel destinations, and likes to run and play tennis when he's not on a plane. He also holds a company record: first to have twins.
- Danielle

Dani was our very first hire in Rio, the employee number one. She runs project management and is the technical point of contact for our Brazilian clients. Outside work, she's happiest with friends around a table she cooked for, or making the most of a good beach day.
- Rafael

Rafael was the second hire from Brazil. He builds the software that helps our client-facing teams deliver beautiful and feature-rich web apps. In his free time, he's thrifting vintage furniture and cooking elaborate meals.
- Knut

Knut is the first Norwegian on the team who came to Rio and stayed. He's a software engineer and our go-to person for data security, which means he asks the uncomfortable questions before anyone else thinks to. He also takes his futevôlei lessons very seriously.
- Sabrina

Sabrina joined as a data scientist and spent her first two months with the team in Rio before packing her bags for Oslo. With a background in electrical engineering and data science, she is now fiercely competing with children under five on the kids' ski slope.

Bianca is on our design team, and makes sure the people using our apps have a good experience and a nice-looking one. She's a big foodie, and collects random trivia for her ever-growing list of fun facts.
A year in Oslo: the Norec exchange
Sabrina and Bianca aren't in Norway by accident. Through an exchange supported by Norec, the Norwegian Agency for Exchange Cooperation, they are spending their first year at our headquarters, learning the technology alongside the whole team before heading back to Rio.
We asked Sabrina and Bianca what that's actually like.
Sabrina had been to Norway before and liked how calm and organised everything felt. The biggest surprise of her first months? "That it wasn't snowing." What she's learning here that she never would have in Rio? "Ping pong."Bianca said yes for the adventure — "never in my life had I imagined I'd work in Norway" — and then met the team through the interviews, which sealed it. Her biggest surprise was how silent the city is. Her biggest discovery, brown cheese. Her one act of resistance:
Bread is not lunch, no matter how hard Norwegians try to convince me otherwise.
For anyone tempted by the roles below but nervous about the move, Sabrina is reassuring:

We're hiring in Rio
We're looking for two more people to join the team: a Software Engineer and a Data Scientist, both based in Rio de Janeiro, and both starting the same way Sabrina and Bianca did: with a 12-month exchange in Oslo.
A full year abroad, a team that will take the time to teach you, and then a seat at the table of a growing operation back home.
